This is why the majority of people hate Apple Arcade and why mobile gaming is an absolute joke.
I am not sure that's the reason people hate Arcade. In fact, many people love the model of a $5 subscription to so many games with no ads and no IAP. What they hate is that most of the games are trash, but the selection of games, of course, is the most crucial part in the first place.

So they removed the games from the iOS and Android App Stores in Feburary, and now it's an Apple Arcade exclusive with no way to download the game for free or for a set price

This is not the same game. This version has different levels and is not an endless run like the previous one. Download the game first before posting nonsense.

Apple Arcade is a trash service where good games languish, and here's why:

* Exclusivity. If a game is on Apple Arcade, it can only be played through Apple Arcade. Hmm what's that? You would like to buy Exit the Gungeon and Jetpack Joyride 2? Well TOO BAD! Subscribe to Apple Arcade or no game for you. There are a lot of games that got Mac ports but you cannot buy them on Steam because of the Apple Arcade exclusivity.
* Redundancy. The majority of Apple Arcade titles are either "remasters" of mobile games you played 10 years ago, ad-free versions of existing mobile games, or indie games that are available on much better platforms, most notably the Nintendo Switch.
* Lack of system sellers. There are some good games on Apple Arcade yes, however none are standouts that make you immediately go "I need to subscribe to Apple Arcade right now to play this!"
* Gatekeeping actually good services from iOS. There are much better services than Apple Arcade, most notably Xbox Game Pass, that offer cloud streaming so you can play major AAA titles on your mobile device. Xbox Game Pass for Cloud is available on Android, but not iPhone/iPad. And why is that? Because Apple is actively blocking the service from the App Store. They have purposefully made it difficult for Microsoft to reach Game Pass to Apple users...but conveniently easier for Apple users to reach Apple Arcade. ?

So you may say "well you're fine with Xbox Game Pass and that's the same thing as Apple Arcade!" Not even close, because Xbox Game Pass is more a rental service as all games on Game Pass can be purchased separately to own, and Game Pass offers big discounts for subscribers to buy and own games should they desire. On Apple Arcade, it's subscribe, or you don't play.

Apple Arcade is crap, and Jetpack Joyride 2 being trapped on it is a travesty as now the majority of players won't be able to play it due to them owning Androids or because most people don't wanna subscribe to this garbage service.
I'll bring up again, the fact that the games are micro-transaction free is worth the money alone.

Played it this morning on my iPhone, and then at lunchtime on my iMac.
It's great, and just as much fun (if not more) than the original used to be!
