What I wanna know is.... will the keynote be prerecorded and overproduced like the past few years during COVID, or will it be fully live again? Don't get me wrong... The prerecorded versions are cool and all but the live shows had/have their charm too....

No its is not, you can buy the MacOS software versions via the Apple App Store.

It is interesting that Apple is marketing the iPad versions as subscriptions comparably?
So the MacOS version does not require any subscription? It’s a flat fee of $199.00 but iPad OS requires a monthly/yearly subscription ?

Yes compare how they have it presented for the iPad.

I would guess they are treating the mobile editions for iPads as more of a on demand usage, then someone using a Mac and having the suite of applications for sale to install during the life of a Mac deployment. The USA educational discounts for the entire suite of applications ('https://www.apple.com/us-edu/shop/product/BMGE2Z/A/pro-apps-bundle-for-education')has always been one of their best deals for students.
