Apple now offers a gift card that can be used at the Apple Store to buy hardware and also at the App Store to buy software. And iTunes is included as well.

Previously, the company sold separate cards, one for iTunes/App Store and another for the Apple Store.

The new card can be used to purchase “products, accessories, apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, iCloud, and more,” according to Apple. It can also cover the subscription costs of services like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade, etc.

The new all-in-one cards can be purchased today on Apple.com

Old Apple gift cards are a still good

Cards purchased earlier are still usable, of course. And old App Store/iTunes ones can now be used in the Apple Store too. “Redeem your App Store & iTunes Gift Cards into your Apple Account Balance, and use it to buy Apple products, accessories, games, music, movies, TV shows, and more,” says the iPhone maker.

That is not true for old Apple Store gift cards. They can still be used to purchase hardware, but can’t be used for software, videos, services, etc.
