Don’t bid farewell to the 64GB storage option for the iPhone just yet! According to Apple leaker Jon Prosser, the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 will come in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB options.
Previously, Prosser suggested the 2020 iPhones would start at 128GB. 64GB has been the lowest standard storage configuration for Apple smartphones since the iPhone 8 and iPhone X in 2017. However, there will be no 64GB iPhone 12 Pro.
In a series of tweets, Prosser said the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 will ship to distributors on October 5. But from the sound of things, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max face continuing delays. In a subsequent tweet, Prosser confirmed that it is “safe to assume the Pro models are still late.” This suggests they could ship in two waves: first the regular iPhone 12, and later the iPhone 12 Pro.
Apple’s first shipment of final iPhone 12 units is going out to distributers on October 5th
The shipment includes:
iPhone 12 mini 5.4
(Definitely the final marketing name)
-64/128/256iPhone 12 6.1
-64/128/256Event on October 13, as I mentioned before.

Apple will show off all four phones, Prosser suggested, at the iPhone 12 event rumored to take place on October 13. Prosser previously said preorders will then open on October 16, before the new iPhones ship on October 23. This could seemingly be only for the iPhone 12 handsets, with the Pro models arriving at a later date.
The biggest iPhone upgrade in years
Prosser’s Apple reporting isn’t flawless, although he’s right more times than he is wrong. According to AppleTrack, a website that keeps tabs on the accuracy of Apple leakers, Prosser is 72.7% accurate (based on 44 rumors).
This year’s iPhones are expected to be Apple’s biggest upgrade since 2017’s iPhone X. Changes expected include an iPad Pro-style redesign, a speedier 5nm A-series chip and the first 5G cellular modems from Apple. All four models reportedly will come with OLED displays. The larger iPhone 12 Pro models (with 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screens) could sport a lidar sensor as well.
