Fresh new information from Jon Prosser says Apple will release the iPad Air for preorders on Friday, October 16, with a launch the following week, Friday 23.

Prosser posted the info shortly after the iPhone 12 event.

We had previously heard Apple would announce the release of the tablet at the iPhone 12 event alongside other products, although this didn't materialize.

Apple's iPad Air 4 features a brand new design with an edge-to-edge display, Touch ID in the top button, and Apple's brand new A14 processor.

The new iPad Air will be available starting next month.

Apple just rounded off its iPhone 12 October event, where it announced the new iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and HomePod mini.

The new iPhone 12 lineup features 5G, an A14 processor, and an all-new design featuring squared edges, new colors, and more. New features include a Super Retina XDR display, camera improvements, and new MagSafe charging capabilities.

Apple's HomePod mini is a smaller version of its smart speaker.
