Fancy four months of unlimited coffee at Panera Bread? Of course you do. And, thanks to Apple Pay, that’s exactly what you can get — provided you’re willing to sign up for a MyPanera+ Coffee subscription, that is.
The new MyPanera+ Coffee subscription usually costs $8.99 per month. For this, customers can get unlimited free coffee in any flavor they want. (Well, almost any flavor. The small print notes that it excludes iced tea and cold brew iced coffee, along with espresso and cappuccinos.)
The company is already offering a free three-month trial. However, by using Apple Pay to pay for the subscription through Panera’s website, this can be extended by an extra month.
As with virtually every subscription service, you can cancel at any time. That means, in theory, that you can sign up using Apple Pay, then cancel just before the free trial is going to end. MyPanera is hoping that you’ll like the service enough to stick around, of course.
Panera and beyond: Apple Pay offers are pretty great
Apple routinely partners with retailers for special offers on products via Apple Pay. These can be anything from free fries at McDonald’s or a $1 chicken sandwich at Burger King to discounts on custom Ray-Bans eyewear or sports merchandise. Last month, Apple offered 20% off food delivery orders from Grubhub.
It’s worth keeping an eye out for these deals. Not all of them will appeal to every customer, of course. But, generally speaking, they’re pretty good offers that require very little from users.
