"Lisey's Story," the thriller adapted by Stephen King from his own novel, will premiere on Apple TV+ beginning June 4.

Following its previous announcement that Julianne Moore is to star in Stephen King's "Lisey's Story," Apple TV has now revealed its eight episodes will begin on June 4.

According to Vanity Fair, Stephen King says that his book was inspired by his own 50-year marriage to fellow novelist Tabitha King.

"I wanted to say something about marriage, about long marriage," said King, "and about celebrity and about the side of lives that are public and the sides of lives that are private— and the door between those two worlds."

"One thing I wanted to say was that with a person who is famous, it can be so bright that they have a tendency to eclipse the people who stand the closest them," he continued. "But Tabby is responsible for so much of what I have done, and she's been so supportive of me over the years."

"It isn't a love letter to her, because that would be a little bit embarrassing for me, and it would be horribly embarrassing for her," said King. "But certainly everything that I know in all my experience in marriage has been positive. And that's in there."

"Lisey's Story" is described as being as much a stalker thriller as it is a love story, and filmmaker Pablo Larrain was chosen to direct because of its mix of reality and the supernatural.

"[Larrain] directs in a kind of hypnotic, inside-out way," producer JJ Abrams told Vanity Fair. "His approach lent itself well to a story that, at the core of it, is a very, dark and twisted adult fairytale."

"Lisey's Story" begins streaming on Apple TV+ on Friday, June 4, 2021.
