Plugable’s USBC-Vameter voltage and amperage meter shows how much power is moving through a USB-C connection. It helps users see what’s happening when their devices are charging… or not charging.

On Tuesday, Plugable released a new version of the tiny multi-meter with an easier-to-read OLED screen and other improvements.

Plugable USBC-Vameter designed for beginners

Connect the USB-C accessory between a laptop, tablet or cell phone and a charger to test the power. The USBC-Vameter shows current, voltage and the direction of current flow. This is the basic information a user of any skill level can understand to help diagnose a problem. It’s not intended to replace professional USB-C test equipment.

The multi-meter doesn’t interfere with data flowing through the cables it’s testing. It only taps into the power (VBUS) and ground connections.

USBC-Vameter is about the size of a USB flash drive, and is designed for use on the go. The updated version offers strengthened USB-C connectors. It can handle from 4V to 20V and 50mA to 10A. It supports USB 1.1 through USB 3.1 Gen 2

The second-generation Plugable USBC-Vameter is available now on Amazon in the US and other countries around the world. It costs $29.95, and a launch coupon lowers the price by $6.
