April 2021 Apple Event: Spoiler-Free Video Stream [Video Posted]

Apple is holding its first virtual media event of 2021 today, with the event kicking off at 10:00 am Pacific Time and likely consisting of a pre-recorded stream from Apple Park. Still, some MacRumors readers who can't follow the event as it's being broadcast are interested in avoiding all of the announcements and waiting until the event has ended and is available for on-demand viewing so as to experience it without already knowing the outcome.

For those individuals, we've posted this news story, which will be updated with a direct link to the presentation once it becomes available from Apple. No other news stories or announcements will be displayed alongside this story.

Apple's recent virtual events have been made available to view almost immediately following the conclusion of the broadcasts, and we expect similar timing for today's event.

Users waiting for the video to be posted are welcome to gather in the thread associated with this news story, and we ask that those who follow the events as they occur refrain from making any posts about Apple's announcements in this thread.

Update: The full video is available on Apple's website as a direct link to the video file with no spoilers.

If someone wants to see it from the start while it hasn't finished and YouTube won't let them (I tried last time and I think it was disabled), I'm going to try to use youtube-dl to download the stream while it runs with this command:
youtube-dl --hls-use-mpegts "//www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdBYVNuky1M"
The --hls-use-mpegts option will allow you to play the video before it finishes. The only limitation is that the player might only recognise the video that has been downloaded until the moment you open it, so if you start 10 min late, it will show the video as if it only has 10 mins, but if you close it and reopen, it will work.

If Apple doesn't release a __________ with _________ and _________ so that it satisfies only my single, particular use case that involves some variant of Unix in a hyper-specialized market that uses science instruments in an academic setting, I will be outraged, send many angry tweets, and never buy another Apple product again even though I've been an Apple user for 25 years. Tim Apple sucks, Apple lost its way after Jobs died and cares only about the iPhone etc.
