Ive’s Arch Wallpaper

Inside the walled garden of Apple Park exists one of Jony Ive’s final creations, a structure of six curved arches in the colours of the old Apple logo created to serve as an event stage & a tribute to the late Steve Jobs.

In typical Apple/Ive fashion, there is a tremendous amount of thought & care that went into the design. In an article published by Cult of Mac, Ive detailed the intention behind the rainbow arch, and I bet you can’t help but read it in his melodic British accent:

“There is the resonance with the rainbow logo that’s been part of our identity for many years. The rainbow is also a positive and joyful expression of some of our inclusion values and I think that one of the primary reasons the idea resonated so immediately and so profoundly with us was the form — the connection from an aesthetic design point of view. A semi-circle relates so beautifully and naturally to the form of the ring.”

We recently saw the Apple Stage make an appearance during the Spring Loaded event earlier in April. Inspired by design, I got to work on yet another wallpaper. I aimed to create a wallpaper that felt clean, bright, & minimalistic. Subtle textures, grains, gradients, and shading provide dimensionality to a design while keeping the wallpaper uncluttered and distraction-free.

The Wallpaper

The Wallpaper is available for Mac displays up to 6K, iPads (up to the 12.9” pro), and iPhone (up to the 12 Pro Max). Each wallpaper is framed for specifically the device it’s intended to be displayed on, providing a unique wallpaper for each of your iDevices.

I hope you love the design as much as I do.
