Tim Cook to speak at Europe's VivaTech conference

Tim Cook

Tim Cook has been announced as a guest speaker at "Europe's biggest startup and tech event" Viva Tech, just after Apple's WWDC.

The fifth annual VivaTech conference, postponed from 2020 because of the coronavirus, is to headline Tim Cook. The organizers have yet to confirm whether Cook will appear online or in person at its Paris event, which runs from Wednesday June 16, 2021, to Saturday June 19.

Also announced as headline speakers at the event are French President Emmanuel Macron, Zoom CEO Eric S. Yuan, and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg will take part in "an in-depth conversation about innovation and technology" on June 17.

Few of the times and topics have been specified yet, however the conference overall is concerned with "the power of technology to transform business and society." Founded in Paris in 2016, the event will again take place at Porte de Versailles, but this time with an extra online element.

"For 2021, we're launching an unmissable hybrid edition," say VivaTech organizers on the official site. "Expect the best of both worlds, with a blend of online and in-person for an augmented event experience. You'll be able to discover the latest innovations, inspiring speakers, budding startups and much more, in Paris or simply from your couch."

Cook has previously visited Paris in person, but his most recent European appearance was online for the CPDP privacy conference in February 2021.
