For 30 years, Other World Computing and its website, MacSales.com, have offered Mac users great ways to upgrade and extend the life of their equipment rather than buying a new computer.

That goes for practically any product an Apple customer could want or need. But when it comes to Thunderbolt connectivity equipment — external drives, docks, hubs, cables — OWC really goes the distance.

MacSales.com: Everything Thunderbolt

Long trusted by the Mac community, Other World Computing says it offers the widest selection of Thunderbolt docks, drives and cables on the web at MacSales.com. From the basics to the most formidable appliances built to help run enterprises, they’re all OWC products.

Docks

If you want to stop playing around with just enough connectivity in your computer setup, it may be time to get serious with OWC’s line of Thunderbolt docks.

The company’s popular flagship dock is popular for a reason. At $249, the OWC Thunderbolt 3 Dock sports 14 ports to expand the horizons of Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 computers. You can charge your computer and connect displays, devices, media cards and more. And of course that’s at high speed, and with solid reliability.

In addition to the flagship Thunderbolt 3 dock, OWC offers five other choices tailored to specific needs. They include a capable and portable Thunderbolt 3 Mini Dock (a new product at $119) and the Mercury Elite Pro Dock for both connectivity and heavy-duty storage ($429 and up).

And now there’s the Thunderbolt Hub — the one hub to connect them all.

External drives

OWC offers a tremendous array of external Thunderbolt-connected drives.

For individuals or small enterprises, products range from portable devices starting at $79 to midrange options with multiple ports and drives at various price points.

For hard-core users and larger enterprises, numerous options exist for multi-bay, high-TB storage devices, including some that allow for massive archiving via LTO tape storage.

Expansion devices

Sometimes you just wish your MacBook Pro, Mac mini or iMac was more of a powerhouse for gaming, video editing or graphics work. Well, now you have a choice besides spending a fortune on a new computer.

You can transform your machine with an external graphics processing unit from OWC. In a nutshell, a speedy Thunderbolt 3 connection allows an eGPU to provide more graphics processing power than your computer’s internal card can. (Read more about it on OWC’s blog.)

Options include AKiTiO and OWC-branded products. Price-wise, they run between about $230 for the OWC Mercury Helios 3S, or a bit more for other choices, up to $2,199 for the OWC Thunderbay Flex 8. It features big-time storage, connectivity and PCIe expansion.

Cables galore

OWC also offers lines of Thunderbolt 4/USB-C cables and Thunderbolt 3 cables. Simply put, the Thunderbolt 4 cables allow you to connect any and all computers and peripherals at data-transfer speeds of up to 40GB per second, with 100 watts of power and charging. Thunderbolt 3 cables are offered in several configurations to tailor to specific needs. OWC also carries Thunderbolt 2 cables.

And much more

Of course, OWC isn’t just about Thunderbolt connectivity.

It offers customers new computers as well as hardware upgrades, docks, storage drives and accessories to help them lengthen any Mac’s lifespan by expanding its productivity.

That way, customers don’t have to shell out a lot of money for a new machine. At least, not just because their current one is starting to show a little age.
