Toss your sanity out the window and play ‘Detonation Racing’
Trust Dr. Boom when he says, “Driving a racing car round an exploding race track is a pretty hazardous thing to do.”

Detonation Racing bills itself as “the most dangerous, least sensible racing series ever devised.” Gameplay involves skillfully maneuvering around a track, but also maybe throwing a nuclear submarine at your opponents.

It zoomed onto Apple Arcade on Friday.

Detonation Racing starts simple, then it blows up

“Experience edge-of-your-seat arcade racing in a world rigged to explode,” says Electric Square of its new game. “Tactically collapse and disintegrate the track to open new routes, and risk hazardous shortcuts to gain competitive advantage.”

If that sounds kind of clinical, watch the trailer starring Dr. Boom to see what you’re really in for:

At launch, there are six tracks to race on, and nine cars with multiple paint jobs to unlock.

Detonation Racing is for one to four players. That’s solo play, online or locally with friends and family.

Now on Apple Arcade

Detonation Racing is available now on the Apple Arcade section of the App Store. There are versions for iPhone, Mac, iPad and even Apple TV, and game controllers are supported.

Playing requires a $4.99-per-month subscription to Apple’s gaming service. That’s the whole cost — no in-app purchases, ads or loot boxes allowed.

And that same payment brings access to close to 200 other titles. Other racing games include Warp Drive – Teleport Racing, Sayonara Wild Hearts and Sonic Racing.
