  • Apple Fitness+ has expanded to fifteen more countries.
  • Apple's Jay Blahnik says that the service could be available in more than English in the future.
  • Subtitles are currently available in Brazilian Portuguese, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish.

Today, Apple expanded Apple Fitness+, the company's fitness streaming service, to fifteen new countries.

In a new interview with the Brazilian newspaper O GLOBO (via 9to5Mac), Jay Blahnik, Apple's Vice President of Fitness Technology, talked about the future of the service. Currently, Apple Fitness+ is only available in English with subtitles in Brazilian Portuguese, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, and Spanish. Blahnik says that the company is open to making the service available in other languages as well.

"I think we're open to the possibiity to go wherever Fitness+ is. Our goal is to help people be healthy. We want to be able to attract as many users as we can and make their experience the best as possible (…) We would absolutely be open about doing all sorts of things to help make the Fitness experience more enjoyable across the world."

While Apple Fitness+ was basically designed for a pandemic world, Apple says that was unintentional and that they have always thought that the service was best if people were able to exercise with minimal equipment from anywhere.

"We projected Fitness+ before the pandemic. We thought it would be great if the service allowed people to exercise anywhere, at any time, and in any way. This is why we have practices that last five, ten, 30, or even 45 minutes. (…) Even though, people can still practice with Fitness+ on the gym as well. The pandemic showed us that people want maximum flexibility when talking about fitness experience, health, and well-being. So if you're at the office and want to take a quick guided meditation and don't want to be in front of a screen, you can hear it with your Watch and your AirPods."

Apple Fitness+ is available for $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. It is also available as part of the Apple One Premier plan.
