Have fun with your friends in Lego Star Wars: Castaways, the first social, action-adventure Lego Star Wars game. Players explore a mysterious new planet, fight in battle arenas, race through flight simulations or relax with a dance party.

The game launched Friday on the Apple Arcade gaming service.

Lego Star Wars: Castaways is about more than fighting

Players start by building  their own in-game Lego minifig. Then they explore a secret world where there’s plenty to find. “Battle foes, solve puzzles, build your skills in battle arenas and learn to pilot your way through flight simulations,” said Gameloft, the developer. “Unearth mysteries and discover a growing threat to life on the planet.”

Part of the adventure is playing through simulations of key Star Wars moments in iconic locations. But it’s not all action — players can throw a dance party for their friends.

And social interaction is a big part of the fun. Lego Star Wars: Castaways supports one to four players. They can cooperate to complete quests or battle it out in races in the Hippodrome.

Only on Apple Arcade

Lego Star Wars: Castaways from Gameloft is available in the App Store now. There are versions for iPhone, Mac, iPad and Apple TV — though the cooperative elements will obviously be more playable on a larger screen. No matter the platform, an external game controller is always an option.

Playing requires a $4.99-a-month subscription to Apple Arcade. But that brings access to 200+ other games, including Lego Star Wars Battles, Lego Brawls and Lego Builder’s Journey. There are no additional costs as ads, in-app purchases and loot boxes are banned by the service.

May the Force be with you.
