Actor Ray Liotta, famous for his roles in Goodfellas, Field of Dreams, Cop Land and other films and TV shows, died in his sleep Thursday at age 67, his publicist said.
Liotta also stars in the upcoming Apple TV+ drama series Black Bird, set to premiere on July 8.

Liotta died in his sleep Thursday in the Dominican Republic, according to Deadline. He was there shooting the film Dangerous Waters. No other details were made available.
Liotta gained much of his fame and reputation through his breakout film role as Henry Hill on Goodfellas, the 1990 mob crime drama directed by Martin Scorsese.
He also appeared as legendary baseball star Shoeless Joe Jackson in Kevin Costner’s Field of Dreams (1989) and as NYPD officer Ray Figgis in Cop Land (2007). He won an Emmy in 2005 for his guest role as an ex-convict and alcoholic on the medical drama series ER.
He had recently resumed a busy acting schedule, appearing in films like The Many Saints of Newark and the upcoming Apple TV+ drama series Black Bird.
In the new limited series, Liotta is the lead character’s father, “Big Jim.” The character’s son is played by Taron Egerton (Rocketman), who plays a high-school prodigy turned accused drug dealer facing a decade in prison.
Apple is set to premiere Black Bird on Apple TV+ on July 8.
Liotta’s death appears unlikely to affect Apple’s release of Black Bird, as the show has presumably finished filming. And as a limited series, a second season may not have been planned. Apple has not commented on the matter.
Liotta leaves behind his daughter Karsen and his fiance Jacy Nittolo.
