Jon Hamm’s humorous request to be included in Apple TV+ has been answered. The actor has been added to the third season of the drama The Morning Show, which is expected to premiere on Apple’s streaming service before the end of 2022.

Ask and ye shall receive, apparently.

Apple TV+ is no longer missing Jon Hamm

In January 2022, Apple released an ad with the Mad Men star scrolling through Apple TV+ calling out all the big stars with series or films on the service while he’s left out.

The ad was called “Everyone but Jon Hamm.” Today, Apple TV+ announced via Twitter that “Season 3 of @TheMorningShow will be everyone and Jon Hamm.”

While this is funny and clever, it’s quite possible the actor had already agreed to join The Morning Show when he made the ad. Season 3 was renewed at that same time.

According to Apple, Jon Hamm is joining the series to play Paul Marks, a corporate titan who sets his sights on UBA, the TV network that airs the show-within-a-show that gives the Apple series its name.

He’s best known for Mad Men, but the Emmy-winning actor is also in Top Gun: Maverick and many other roles.

The Morning Show is a highlight of Apple TV+

The Morning Show was one of the big titles when Apple’s streaming video service arrived in November 2019, as it stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Steve Carell and Billy Crudup. It’s fulled its promise, raking in Emmy, SAG and Critics Choice awards,

It is a workplace drama set at a fictitious morning news program where there’s more going on behind the camera than in front of it.

When asked by The Hollywood Reporter about Season 3, Witherspoon said, “If #MeToo was the center of season 1, and season 2 has so many issues but really tackles the impending pandemic, I would love to see how the world realigns post-quarantine. Even though that seems optimistic to say at this point, with people still dealing with the complexity of COVID and really what it’s doing to different industries.”

A premiere date for the new episodes has not yet been announced. Those who would like to catch up can watch the first two seasons of The Morning Show on Apple TV+.
