Apple Card earned top marks in the annual J.D. Power U.S. Credit Card Satisfaction Study. Apple/Goldman Sachs beat out their rivals in the Midsize Credit Card Issuer segment, with users liking the benefits, rewards and more.

2022 is the second year in a row Apple Card took home this honor.

People love them some Apple Card

Apple Card tries be consumer friendly, and its statements appear in the iPhone Wallet app. It offers cash-back rewards paid every day. The Mac-maker’s name is on the card but Goldman Sachs is the bank backing it.

The card debuted back in 2019, and it again did very well in J.D. Power’s satisfaction survey. In its size category, survey responders ranked the card highest for interaction, credit card terms, communication, benefits and services, rewards, and key moments.

“Enhancing our customers’ lives is at the heart of what we do, so we are honored to have Apple Card and issuer Goldman Sachs recognized again this year for customer satisfaction,” said Jennifer Bailey, VP of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet. “We remain committed to providing a digital-first credit card that helps customers lead healthier financial lives.”

The credit card’s satisfaction score on the J.D. Power survey is 843 out of 1000. That’s 35 points higher than the nearest issuer. But it’s also 22 points lower than it scored on the same survey in 2021.

It’s very Apple

The credit card is made of titanium, and Apple suggests customers use it where its contactless-payment system Apple Pay isn’t accepted.

It integrates with the iPhone Wallet app and tracks purchases and payments in an easy-to-understand interface. The day, location, amount and time of payment are cleanly listed, sans the tiny type and obscure store codes of the usual credit card statement.

Like most such, Apple Card offers cash back — which it calls “Daily Cash” — on purchases. The standard amount is 1% though special promotions increase this. The money goes into the user’s Apple Cash account each day. It can be used to make other purchases or transferred to the user’s bank account.
